This furniture includes a permanent safety warning label, as required by law. The label is clearly visible, legible, and located inside a door or drawer where it can be seen when the unit is empty. It features:
- A high-visibility alert word (e.g., WARNING or DANGER).
- A globally recognised safety alert symbol.
- A pictogram showing a child climbing the furniture with a strikethrough.
- A statement warning that children have died from toppling furniture.

Toppling Furniture Mandatory Warning Label – Category 3
Effective Date
From 4 May 2025, this product must meet the mandatory standard for toppling furniture. This applies to Category 3 furniture, including Entertainment Units
Permanent Safety Label
This furniture includes a permanent safety warning label. The label is fixed inside a door or drawer and stays visible when the unit is empty. It is clearly printed, easy to read, and designed to last for the product’s lifetime.
The label includes:
- An alert word such as WARNING or DANGER in upper case.
- A recognised safety alert symbol.
- A pictogram showing a child climbing, with a cross or strikethrough.
- A warning that children have died from furniture tip-overs.
Category-Specific Safety Instructions
Category 1 – Bookcases and Clothing Storage Units
The label includes instructions to:
Always secure furniture to the wall with an anchor.
Never let children climb, hang, or open more than one drawer at a time.
Never place a television on this unit.
Place heavy items in lower drawers or shelves.
Do not remove the label.
Category 2 – Entertainment Units (any height)
The label advises:
Always secure your TV with an anchor.
Prevent children from climbing.
Do not remove the label.
Category 3 – Cabinets, Hall Tables, Buffets, Sideboards (≥686 mm)
The label includes these instructions:
Secure the furniture to the wall with an anchor.
Prevent climbing.
Secure any TVs used with an anchor.
Do not remove the label.
